Who Are You – Do you love board games? Are you especially excited by the games that Moon Star Board Games release? Do you want to support a small board game publisher and see what goes on behind the scenes? Would you like access to early information regarding upcoming games, free promotional merchandise and the potential of significant discounts on Moon Star games? Are you a playtester/translator exciting about receiving credits in games? If you answered yes to these questions, you may be a perfect fit for our Moon Stars family.

What Moon Stars Do – Moon Stars fill a number of roles for our small independent board game company which we simply do not have the bandwidth to fill ourselves. They can share their perspectives on our games on social media, help us to proof read materials, answer and assist with questions on forums, playtest game prototypes, assist with localisation efforts, teach our games to friends and strangers at conventions and events, or share news of our games to their followers on social media.

Expectations – Moon Star Board Games is an inclusive and welcoming force in the board game hobby. We want everyone, regardless of any personal characteristic or inclination, to love this wonderful hobby as much as we do. And we love it very very deeply. Your perspective should be no different to outs. Any behaviour or communication which we believe is detrimental to this core goal will result in you immediately losing your status as a Moon Star.

Conventions and Events – We attend select conferences throughout the year and Moon Stars are encouraged to apply to assist in the teaching of our games at these events. We are always very happy to treat everyone to food and a family meal in the evening to refuel tired feet and voices. For conventions which we are not officially attending, we simply ask for Moon Stars to be a welcoming presence to those trying out our games. That is, if you see a group playing or learning one of our games, check in to see if they have any questions and take feedback for sharing with us for our development notes.

Communication – Moon Stars are expected to stay up to date with Moon Star Board Game-related information, including reading the monthly Moon Stars update. The email usually describes at least one sneak peek, one actionable point and a new addition to our designer information series. We trust information with Moon Stars before it is available for public consumption and we also want to be a repository of otherwise difficult-to-accumulate board game industry knowledge.

Compensation & Discounts – All Moon Stars are gifted with a free Moon Star Board Games t-shirt on acceptance to the team, in addition to promotional fliers and other merchandise. Each year Moon Stars are sent a new t-shirt to proudly wear and celebrate their anniversary on the team. There are currently no plans to make these t-shirts available to the general public. Moon Stars are additionally able to receive as much as 75% refunds on Moon Star games purchased depending on their activities on behalf of Moon Star Board Games and the Moon Star team.
